Hey Friends,
It's that time of year again, when Lang and I ask ourselves, "where did the time go?" I'm running behind on getting the decorations up, and starting the Christmas shopping. In a short time, 2018 comes to a close, and a New Year is about to start. It's a time of reflection on the past year and a time of anticipation for the days ahead.
This year has been a year of launching out into the great unknown. Here are just a couple of highlights.
Recap
In August we kicked off a 4 month PR campaign for our EP "3" with a PR company out of NYC. We had several interviews with online radio programs and online magazines. In November our last single and video, "Bulletproof" was released. Right before Thanksgiving, we officially launched our Shopify Shop and now have a place for people to purchase our music, t-shirts and other items.
Currently our song "I'm Coming Through" (click the link and watch the video) is being remixed by several award winning DJ's. The dance remixes will be released after the first of the year. Our plan is to go back into the studio and record another 5 to 6 songs, in the early part of next year. Exciting times lie ahead!
Roll With The Changes
A lot happened this year that we couldn't have known or predicted. Plans were made, we launched out and experienced the typical things that happen when you embark on a journey. There are hills and valleys, twists and turns, detours and obstacles to overcome. Someone once said, sometimes it takes more courage than faith, to take those initial steps out into the great unknown. Once you're out there, it also takes a lot of readjusting too.
Jet Pilots
We shared a story awhile back that really resonated with us, on a blog, and we want to share the principles here again.
Jet pilots use a technique called IFR (instrument flight rules) for guidance.
When the destination is a "dot" on the horizon or not visible at all, they have to check the instrumentation frequently in order to ensure that they're not straying off course. It's tough to know exactly how to get somewhere you've never been and it's a bit like flying over oceans and large land masses with no markings to delineate distance or direction using VFR (visual flight rules). They have to make adjustments to stay on course, even though it appears they're headed straight for their destination. This is a wonderful analogy of what the pursuit of a dream is like.
This scripture sums it up best:
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally.
I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself. The Message
The Dream Restoration Group
We also wanted to announce a Facebook group that we started a while ago but want to invite you to join if you're interested. It's called The Dream Restoration Group.
We are followers and lovers of Jesus and wanted to have an outlet to voice some of those kinds of things regarding faith, dreams, inspirational stories and encourage like minded people as well. We're of the mindset that God has a plan and purpose for every single person on the planet and no one is here by mistake. So, if you're interested i
n joining, just click the highlighted link above, send the request on the Facebook page, and we'll add you!
We pray that you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and Happy New Year!
