Fight For Peace-Coronavirus version!

Updated: May 26, 2020

👊🏻Fight For Peace!

Right now, there are a myriad of voices speaking, calling us to agree with them. How do we figure out what to believe? When confusion is in the mix, part of the process to find out what TO believe, is to figure out what NOT to believe.

This verse is great for breaking it down for us and seeing what’s really going on. Colossians 2: 8 “Beware that no one distracts you or intimidates you in their attempt to lead you away from Christ’s fullness by pretending to be full of wisdom when they’re filled with endless arguments of human logic. For they operate with humanistic and clouded judgments based on the mindset of this world system, and not the anointed truths of the Anointed One.”

The NKJV says it this way: “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.”

So we saw 4 points that describe the different ways that we can be brought out of the place of peace and confidence we already have and are in, in Christ. We just looked up the definitions of these words on Bing; italics, ours: 1. Philosophy-a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle for behavior; is it God’s philosophy or man’s? 2. Empty deceit-the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth with no proof of value or benefit. 3. Tradition of Men-a doctrine believed to have divine authority though not in the scriptures 4. Basic principles of the world-the rules or beliefs governing one's personal behavior; (that are based on the kingdom of men not the kingdom of God).

We wrote a song a number of years ago called Fight For Peace. It feels like a bit of an oxymoron; if it’s peace or peaceful, there shouldn’t any fighting going on, right? Right??🤔 But right now, there is a battle going on. It’s being waged over who/what will occupy your thoughts and then in turn, fuel your emotions which in turn, will drive your actions.

💪🏻So let’s take every thought captive.

2 Corinthians 5:10 “We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.” So, fight for peace today!
